What to wear to survive anywhere? John was invited to speak at outdoor gear specialists Filson's London store, and told tales of extreme heat and cold from his global survival travels. From mukluks and mittens to floating in Arctic water, dressing to survive in the harshest environments on our planet isn't something you can cuff.
Campaign for wool
As part of their "wool week" event, John was invited by Prince Charles' Campaign for Wool team to talk about the benefits of this wonder yarn. Wool has been an essential element of pilot survival clothing for a century now, and John described its many benefits over synthetics. See here for more.
Lloyds Pharmacy Safer care conference
John was asked to talk to the Lloyds Pharmacy delegates at their annual Safer Care conference. John drew parallels between their network of volunteer safety ambassadors and the way survival training was organised by the volunteer specialists within the RAF, from it's beginnings to the present day.
